Summary

Skyrocketing budget numbers might lead security leaders to believe that good times have finally arrived. But security spending's continued climb as a percentage of IT budgets hides the disruption that CISOs will have to face as their companies adopt the business technology (BT) agenda. Instead of gravitating toward IT projects, they need to proactively participate in customer-facing initiatives. That is, they need to reach beyond their comfort zone and prove how bigger budgets lead to better security and better business.
