Infrastructure and operations (I&O) decision-makers continue to struggle with unbridled data growth and must change inefficient storage buying habits to keep their customers happy and key data accessible. Going into 2014, emerging technologies such as flash and object storage will reshape the storage landscape and should be added to I&O environments to complement and potentially displace existing tier one and tier two storage systems. New innovations such as storage quality of service (QoS) will also enhance storage environments in 2014, delivering the performance granularity that has eluded storage systems for many years.
