Storage was one of the first public cloud services. Public cloud storage has since gained traction, as it allows firms to inexpensively archive large volumes of inactive data in a remote location. After finding success with that model, infrastructure and operations (I&O) pros started to send most of their backup and old data to cloud storage providers — but they often overlook other criteria that can affect the decision of where to locate data. I&O pros can use this report to make a calculated decision about where they store their backup, archival, and disaster recovery data.
