Summary

In Part 3 of Forrester's TechRadar™ series on business technology (BT) monitoring, we examine eight technologies in the "Survival" ecosystem phase: business activity monitoring, cloud cost monitoring, cloud monitoring, data center resource monitoring, dynamic data stream monitoring, end user experience monitoring, service level monitoring, and software license monitoring. These technologies face a constant challenge of keeping up with increasing business and IT complexity, while ensuring their solutions are easy to use by IT infrastructure and operations (I&O) professionals. While Survival phase technologies haven't completely solved this challenge yet, Forrester uncovered numerous examples of successful customer adoptions and ROI in certain customer contexts. While prior and subsequent reports in this TechRadar series evaluate 10 technologies in other ecosystem phases, I&O professionals should use this report to determine when you should pilot and invest in Survival phase BT monitoring technologies.
