Summary

In Forrester's 22-criteria evaluation of carrier Ethernet vendors, we identified and qualified seven global and regional service providers that offer unmanaged site-to-site carrier Ethernet services to multinational companies in Asia Pacific and researched, analyzed, and scored them. This report details our evaluation of BT Global Services, Pacnet, Orange Business Services, Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel), Tata Communications, Telstra Global, and Verizon. Site-to-site carrier Ethernet is an emerging service, with modest adoption levels from one service provider to the next. Key differentiators include services on offer, including flexibility in bandwidth bursting, granularity of access speeds, operational metrics and reporting, network coverage, and service-level agreements. Each service provider has its own particular strengths; this report will help enterprise sourcing professionals select a suitable partner for their needs for unmanaged site-to-site carrier Ethernet services in Asia.
