Augmented reality (AR) glasses were first released a decade ago, and companies continue to release new glasses despite low consumer adoption to date. Adoption is constrained by an inability to create enticing AR experiences without compromising on cost, style, and weight with the technology widely available today. Technological improvements within the next decade will dramatically improve the experiences with AR glasses and subsequently increase adoption without increasing cost and weight. This report highlights the current state of AR glasses and the factors that will signal increasing consumer interest in the market within the next five to 10 years.
