Summary

The US digital home has undergone major disruption in the past decade. Five years ago, the digital home was just starting to see the early stages of consumer home networking; today, the digital home has evolved immensely and home networks are the norm. The average home network has four devices connected to it, and this number will only grow. Increased in-home connectivity means that US consumers' entertainment and communications experiences have already been transformed, while future uptake of new, smart, mobile technologies will continue to disrupt every aspect of the home. This report examines the digital home of today and outlines what the digital home of the near future might look like.
