Application development and delivery (AD&D) leaders are facing a crisis in the kitchen: There don't seem to be enough top chefs to go around. A gap exists between the supply of good developers and the demand for their services. It's a seller's market, which makes it important to build a shop culture that helps recruit and retain creative developers. To do so, focus on the increasingly social nature of developers, and support their efforts to form communities, create shared purpose for their work, and change what they don't like about the industry status quo.
