Why Read This Brief

In an increasingly connected world, it's not surprising that more than three-quarters of US online adults are banking online on a PC — checking their account balances, transferring funds, or paying bills. In this Technographics overview, we look at who these online bankers are and explore their preferences and behaviors. Compared with the 24% of US online adults who are not banking online, US online bankers have more investable assets and higher household incomes. Banks should also take note of their preference for multiple banking channels, openness toward branchless banking, desire for online money management tools from their own bank, and the inevitable shift toward digital banking on connected and mobile devices.
