Summary

Most smart sourcing professionals know that making smart sourcing decisions can result in a significant competitive advantage for their business. Yet in the face of rapid tech market changes, sourcing decisions have become more complex: they are made with the involvement of more stakeholders, for more business purposes, and are expected to be in accordance with company policies. Since IT organizations have an increasing number of sourcing options to choose from (whether internal or external, onshore, nearshore, or offshore) a sourcing strategy that is well executed and carefully integrated into the IT portfolio plan becomes far more important. Adding the right level of governance to the sourcing process allows organizations to make decisions in time and ensure that important information driving key decisions will not be lost.
