Why Read This Brief

From a consumer product strategy perspective, Verizon's decision to sell its remaining rural wireline properties to Frontier Communications will free the carrier to focus on its FiOS and wireless products in more strategic, densely populated areas. By eliminating these rural properties from its portfolio, Verizon will be able to offer FiOS products and services to roughly 70% of its addressable market within the next year. With greater focus on FiOS, we expect Verizon to continue its strong efforts in marketing and selling bundles of super-fast Internet service, high-quality TV services, and, soon, an integrated VoIP-based voice service as well.
