Summary

Gen Yers — those born between 1980 and 2000 — generate lots of buzz in the business community. Business leaders see this group's affinity for social, collaboration, and mobile technologies as potentially disruptive to their businesses. Forrester's latest data on the attitudes and behaviors of Gen Yers suggest the answer is "no." Oversimplified generational stereotypes will do little to shape effective technology policies and strategies for this group. Instead, Forrester recommends embracing this population for input into IT strategies and basing workforce technology decisions on more fact-based, robust worker profiles.
