Why Read This Report
In our December 4, 2013, "Predictions For 2014: Cloud Computing" report, we stated that Australia would rise to the No. 2 market for cloud services consumption globally. In this report, we explain our thinking behind this prediction and why enterprises and vendors looking to engage customers in this market should move aggressively to leverage cloud services to achieve this aim. While the population and overall GDP of this country may be small in comparison to larger markets such as Western Europe or China, Australia's fast-follower culture and "just go for it" mentality is driving more aggressive consumption of cloud services per capita than these larger markets. Key verticals such as retail banking, media and entertainment, and even local government are moving to cloud far more readily than their counterparts in these larger global markets.
