Even before the advent and widespread interest in generative AI (genAI), AI was one of the most promising technologies available to HR for boosting HR-specific productivity and capabilities. In 2021, our survey data showed that most US-based HR leaders weren’t ready for AI; they put AI low on their priority list for strategy and skill development. Three years later — even after genAI promised massive benefits in productivity — HR leaders are still sorely underprepared to help their organizations navigate the changes that AI will bring.
