Summary

When planning, rolling out, or fixing business process management (BPM) initiatives, business process executives need a governance road map to ensure that all management processes are aligned with the initiative's improvement goals. Forrester's Lean Business Technology (BT) maturity matrix examines BPM governance through the lens of five elements — strategy, process, structure, performance measurement, and culture — including a Lean perspective, to ensure that processes are managed for customer value, differentiation, and the elimination of waste. The purpose of the matrix is to help business process executives assess where their organization is positioned currently and identify a coherent list of prerequisites to increase the maturity of its BPM governance practices.
