Implementing effective architecture governance is on the agenda of many firms, as they continue to struggle to align business and IT strategy and deliver value from their investments. Today, most firms organize architecture governance around architecture domains as part of their IT governance. This leads to bottlenecks and conflict because in many cases, IT is not the appropriate decision-maker. This report provides guidance on how firms can redefine their architecture governance processes and policies to ensure that decision rights are allocated appropriately and the right behavior is encouraged to attain successful realization of business objectives.
