Use Forrester’s POST methodology to make smart choices about when and if to use augmented reality (AR) in your mobile experiences. With few exceptions, utilize AR within your existing channels. Do not build stand-alone AR experiences unless you are trialing the technology. Understand the minor limitations of AR within the browser compared to mobile apps before making a final decision about where to place AR. Lean toward browser-based AR experiences for upper-funnel marketing campaigns. Both app- and browser-based AR experiences deliver comparable results in retail.
