Summary
While BMC has espoused its Business Service Management (BSM) vision for many years, along with numerous other vendors, we believe the June 2008 acquisition of niche management vendor ITM Software will provide a significantly improved, business-oriented toolset for managing enterprise IT. The challenge for IT organisations, through at least 2015, will be to both improve overall IT maturity and garner sufficient internal support to invest in the potential improvements that such a toolset can offer. We foresee initial success in Asia Pacific, through at least 2011, to be limited primarily to leading IT performers in Australia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, and Singapore.
