On July 28, Oracle announced that it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire SaaS ERP provider NetSuite. At $9.3 billion, the deal is the largest SaaS acquisition to date. Application development and delivery professionals (AD&D pros) should look at this deal as a clear signal that the transition from on-premises ERP to SaaS is now mainstream.
