Brief: Why Docker Is All The Rage

The age of the customer demands unprecedented speed across the entire application delivery life cycle. Infrastructure and operations (I&O) pros must collaborate with their peers in application development to drive out process friction and standardize the tools used to package and deploy applications. Over the past 18 months, Docker containers have generated tremendous interest and uptake among well-known cloud providers, who use them to deliver some of the largest and most popular cloud services and applications. Docker containers leverage Linux kernel features and promise "build once, run anywhere" simplicity for developers and higher server efficiency and scalability for technology managers.
