Business architecture (BA) initiatives are taking many forms as business architects work to find a model that encourages business buy-in and participation. Few BA programs are chartered by business executives. The rest must create an approach that aligns with their organization's culture and approach to strategy development. Many BA programs have constraints on their resources, and architects must create a collaborative model that leverages others beyond the central BA team. This report will examine the characteristics of centers of excellence, communities of practice, and centralized and distributed BA organizational models.
