Retailers that want to accept credit cards need to demonstrate that their systems comply with the payment card industry (PCI) data security standard. But implementing PCI compliance can be expensive, and retailers don’t get much additional revenue from their PCI investments. Reliant Solutions offers its customers a PCI compliance solution that makes comprehensive use of open source software (OSS) to help drive down costs and increase configuration flexibility. We first profiled Reliant’s adoption of OSS in 2009. To help application development and delivery (AD&D) pros with OSS innovation, we’re checking back to examine how the firm uses OSS today and what’s changed for its development teams.
