Springboard Research notes continuing concerns around information security and data residency when evaluating potential cloud service providers/solutions. We are also witnessing a slow - but growing - recognition that cloud service providers are often more secure than on-premises solutions. Requirements for in-country data residency often excludes cloud-based applications as a viable option. However, organizations must understand that the adoption of cloud-based applications does not necessarily exclude on-premises data residency.
