Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology have been touted as the future of tech over the last decade. The promise of new gaming experiences and the “shiny object” syndrome of virtual worlds have yielded much hype, with little return: VR and AR headset adoption has slowed. However, usage among current users is up as they find ways to engage beyond gaming. This report offers data insights into how consumers are currently adopting, using, and perceiving VR and AR technologies.
