Consumers Toe-Dip In Health-Related Social Media

Summary

Health plans are looking for new ways to connect with consumers, including via social media. But plans worry about consumer engagement levels with these new platforms. Forrester asked consumers about their interest level in using health-plan-supported communities to discuss administrative and health topics and found that almost a third are interested. However, given a relative lack of social media experience among consumers, health plans will still need to look carefully at which types of social media investments are likely to pay off.
