Summary

Forrester’s 2024 data shows that 77% of data and analytics employees from more mature insights-driven businesses have a dedicated staff member or team responsible for data literacy, compared to only 49% of respondents from organizations with beginner maturity levels. Having a clear point person who is responsible for creating, promoting, educating, measuring, and managing data/AI literacy is essential for increasing user adoption of advanced technologies. Without this role, healthy data use behaviors, upskilling messages, and best practices may be neglected, mixed, nixed, or fail to exist. A data literacy owner is crucial for fostering a data-driven culture for smarter business decision-making.
