Summary

Product requirements define the elements necessary in a new or an enhanced product or solution to enable it to meet market needs. They explain in nontechnical terms what the offering must provide or do to meet buyer and user needs, facilitating interlock between product management and other functions, including product development and engineering, and ensuring the offering can deliver on the opportunity outlined in the business case. In this report, we provide a template, examples, and guidelines product managers can use to develop product requirements.
