Hydrasight notes EMC's announced acquisition of IT service management (ITSM) vendor Infra Corporation, during March 2008, as continuing EMC's investment in infrastructure software. It also adds functionality that will see EMC able to successfully compete against established service desk software leaders BMC (Remedy), CA, and HP. Irrespective, we believe the challenge for EMC will remain in convincing organisations to strategically invest in its IT management software beyond the storage layer.
