Taking into account the EMEA-specific sourcing environment and the highly fragmented EMEA service provider landscape, sourcing and vendor management teams need to adapt their approach to align with the changing expectations of their stakeholders around desktop service delivery. These new approaches need to address three high-impact areas of change: 1) important migration options for existing technologies like Microsoft Windows; 2) game-changing new technologies and service-delivery models; and 3) disruptive changes in demand/expectations among desktop users. Smart sourcing teams can take steps to influence or even lead the agenda for desktop service strategy to maximize the value delivered in this important area of technology consumption.
