Summary

Security leaders use comparisons with their peers to assist with their security budgeting. In this report, we compare various budget and strategy questions of firms spending up to 20% and 20% or more of their IT budget on information security, according to the results of the Forrester Analytics Business Technographics Security Survey, 2021. Security leaders can use these budget ranges to benchmark their programs, identify areas to develop competence, then compare their product, service, staffing, and other allocations with those of similar firms. This report provides two baseline ranges to guide CISOs’ future information security budget decisions.
