Part of ForecastView’s new-in-2014 biannual update cadence for many of our forecasts, this year-end update to our Western Europe online display advertising forecast folds in updated data sources, including the latest Consumer Technographics® survey data, Internet traffic projections, and revised tablet sales/installed base data. The total display market is now forecasted to exceed €13 billion by 2019 at a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12%. This 2019 projection represents an increase of 9% over our prior forecast, with individual country increases ranging from 4.5% to 12%. Video is now expected to be the predominant channel before the end of the forecast period, on its way to capturing nearly half of display spending in Western Europe in 2019.
