Summary
During November 2011 and December 2011, Forrester surveyed 2,438 software decision-makers across Canada, France, Germany, the UK, and the US to determine their spending priorities around software. To understand the software strategies of successful companies, we clustered the survey responses by company performance. The results unveil significant differences in the spending patterns of top- and low-performing firms. For example, we found that top performers invest significantly more in innovation topics like cloud computing, analytics, and mobile applications. This document provides deeper insights into the software strategies of top-performing companies across North America and Europe and how they differ from the approaches of low performers.
