Adoption of open source digital experience software, historically driven by grassroots developers, is expanding in part due to commercial vendors, many of whom support free community versions of digital experience software and make money from enhanced "enterprise" editions. But open source isn't just about price. Application development and delivery (AD&D) pros cite the ability to freely modify OS tools to meet their needs, unlike with closed systems. This report examines the different types of open source digital experience applications and offers advice on considering these options as you build enterprise digital experience delivery capabilities.
