Global WAN Services Options Are Maturing And Expanding

Large multinational organizations with widely distributed operations that span several geographies want more international wide-area network (WAN) services options from telecom service providers. While most clients we've worked with on global telecom sourcing reviews and WAN RFPs during the past three years tell us they'd be interested in single-sourcing their global WAN, almost none of them have gone that route in the end. Why? Most organizations fret about the higher physical and commercial risks of single-sourcing their global network. To help IT and networking sourcing groups at large MNCs better understand their global WAN sourcing options, Forrester surveyed 10 major international WAN service providers about their current offerings. MNCs now have more service provider options for international WAN services.
