Hydrasight has noted a significant rise in media and marketing interest in so-called "green IT" during 2008. While most of the focus has so far been on reducing power consumption in the data centre, we believe IT organisations will be increasingly pushed to use technology to help improve the efficiency and resource consumption of the business overall. In many organisations, this will negatively impact the ITO's operational capabilities and put increasing pressure on IT budgets.
