Summary

In part 1 of this series, Forrester explained why I&O managers should look to deploy a wireless user experience network (uXn). A uXn can be characterized as a multistage problem-solving process that requires I&O teams to not only foresee how users are likely to use the infrastructure but also create an infrastructure flexible enough to change with business strategy. This document describes how wireless uXn deployments can be deployed successfully if I&O managers align themselves with the business strategy and take these five steps: 1) perform WLAN deployments by business unit; 2) include end users; 3) pick an architecture that mimics your business strategy; 4) do user site design; and 5) create security infrastructure for the empowered employee.
