Summary

While the recent UK general election has provided certainty that the first stage of Brexit will happen on January 31, the certainty only persists until the end of 2020. It's still possible that a World Trade Organization (WTO) terms transition will occur if a trade deal is not agreed to and ratified with the EU within the next 12 months. Regardless of the final outlook of the trade deal, we know that Brexit will impact recruitment, staffing, trade arrangements, data protection, and security cooperation with the EU. Chief information security officers (CISOs) should use this report to prioritize their Brexit to-do lists over the coming 12 months.
