Risk professionals are shifting from a series of siloed efforts and turning their attention to more holistic information archiving and governance (IAG) programs. Our survey data shows that decision-makers are investing in IAG to achieve objectives in compliance, information access and leverage, security, privacy, IT efficiency, and eDiscovery across a mix of content and application types. However, as they make this transition, risk professionals grapple with budget, leadership, and organizational issues. In this report, we review IAG promises and challenges, provide peer benchmarks, and outline what this shift means to risk professionals.
