KPN's acquisition of Getronics in October 2007 has created what will most likely evolve into a services powerhouse for Converged Service Delivery (CSD) in Europe. With their strong background in telecom and IT services as well as their highly complementary service portfolios, the companies can together build a true end-to-end CSD value proposition. While the integration of the different service components and delivery platforms is still ongoing, customers will find the end result compelling, as it will offer CSD from a single source. If KPN/Getronics can finally also overcome some of their weaknesses in their go-to-market strategies, this new entity will surely cause serious trouble for other CSD competitors.
