While technology management planning is a common starting point for business architecture (BA) efforts, the involved methods and techniques really come into their own when applied to critical business problems. BA professionals address a broad range of business issues, from digitizing products and services to transforming to a customer-focused organization. The discipline of business architecture continues to evolve, but business-focused enterprise architecture professionals often struggle to communicate the value that BA brings and find themselves excluded from key decision-making activities. This is an update of a previously published report; it factors in our most current research on maturing the BA discipline within an organization.
