Summary
To better understand the usability challenges of the mobile Web, we compared several known user experience principals with the mobile Web across three different windows: transcoded desktop Web sites, mobile Web sites, and mobile applications. Companies developing a mobile Web strategy should be aware of the usability tradeoffs for each approach. For the mobile Web to succeed, firms should hold off on plans for delivering all capabilities; focusing instead on a subset of content and functionality with specific mobile users in mind.
