More Than Half Of Enterprise Data Is In The Cloud

Data lifecycle management, including the operations and costs to make an enterprise’s transaction and analytical data secure, available, and accountable to organizational compliance, requires understanding where that data is stored. In Forrester’s Data And Analytics Survey, 2025, enterprise data and analytics decision-makers across industries reported that, on average, their organizations stored 62% of their data in the cloud. This percentage was fairly consistent across industries, including 65% in financial services and insurance, 65% in retail and wholesale, 63% in healthcare, and 61% in manufacturing and production. This report provides a snapshot of Forrester’s data on enterprise data storage.
