The introduction of the mouse-based graphical user interface (GUI) helped give birth to the modern PC. Similarly, the practical application of multitouch screens in the first-generation Apple iPhone redefined mobile computing. Today, advances in machine learning, combined with dropping sensor prices, have set the stage for a new round of hands-free computing control capabilities. This report introduces business technology leaders to five pioneer vendors developing new UI technologies that will equip the next generation of computing devices for more natural, adaptive, and anticipatory interactions.
