Cloud computing is still in its infancy, and it's already becoming clear that the first versions of infrastructure–as-a-service (IaaS) need some improvement. To plan their strategy for public and private cloud, enterprise architects should start thinking about what's next for these types of services. This report discusses infrastructure-as-a-service's current shortcomings and explores their ramifications for future cloud capabilities.
