Summary

Earlier this year, Forrester launched a series of discussions with business process management (BPM) thought leaders that have made a significant contribution to the discipline — whether by driving standards, expanding the technology, or pushing process improvement methodologies in new directions. This report is the second in the series and is based on conversations with Alan Trefler, CEO of Pegasystems. Alan helped shape the market, driving the use of fused business rules and process engines to help firms build for change and more easily meet the needs of their customers. Given the level of interest in BPM within the market, these discussions with thought leaders explore where the BPM software industry came from and the challenges that it faces moving forward.
