Sourcing and vendor management (SVM) executives have spent the past few years building frameworks, templates, and checklists for software-as-a-service (SaaS) selection. This has helped them reduce risks but hasn’t helped tie vendor relationships to business success. Sourcing decision-makers need to focus not only on risk mitigation but also on growth and innovation. Most SVM teams do not know how to manage SaaS vendors for business outcomes.
