In July 2012, Forrester Research analyzed the software asset portfolios of 16 large global providers of IT services. During this process, Forrester received a total of 545 artifacts and characterized them according to attributes like the number of clients, creation date, delivery model, and customer value proposition.
Forrester conducted an in-depth analysis of these software assets, leveraging publicly available information including vendor websites and product brochures to further categorize the SAs from the point of view of horizontal and vertical business processes. Forrester also looked at other capabilities of the SAs, such as mobile and analytics capabilities.
The 16 IT services vendors evaluated this report were: Accenture, BearingPoint, Capgemini, CGI, Cognizant, CSC, HCL Technologies, Hexaware Technologies, IBM, Infosys, Logica, Mahindra Satyam, Mphasis, NIIT Technologies, Sonata Software, and Wipro IT Business.
