There are many pitfalls that the sourcing executive should avoid, from a lack of customized solutions to the inappropriate use of intellectual property (IP), and from picking a partner that can't support your requirements to the inability to provide the right cultural fit for an application. However, an approach that starts with the customer in mind — while at the same time fulfilling business requirements — will always be more successful than an approach that attempts to fit the solution to the customer.
