While SVM professionals can dramatically affect the value of new technologies, their role needs more clarity and focus in order to avoid confusion with enterprise architecture's historic purview. By defining their distinct value in the emerging technology adoption process, SVM teams can increase their value to the business. SVM executives can start this transition by articulating their unique capabilities in the new technology adoption process, allocating resources to the responsibility, and marketing their value to their IT and business counterparts.
