CISOs play a key role in customer obsession: They must secure their firm’s products and services; safeguard customer data; manage risk and compliance; and preserve the brand’s reputation. That’s why every CISO should 1) work with the CMO and CX leader to understand the firm’s strategy for customer obsession; 2) use customer data to identify customers’ cybersecurity expectations, where customers struggle with security, and where security teams can reduce friction; and 3) ensure that security team behaviors align with customer obsession.
